Joeri (53), a timid IT-consultant and father from Delft, has turned his life around to pursue acting. He's cast as a barking prison warden in a prison escape-experience, a role that runs counter to his gentle nature. As he takes acting lessons to learn how to come across as intimidating, the film explores, through Joeri's eyes, what authority means. To him, authority is something to be enforced: you have to dominate, to stand above the other. The harder he tries, the clearer it becomes how fragile that authority is. It exists only as long as everyone keeps playing along.
